Solid 9ct Gold Rolex

£1,100

Overview
This is a simply beautiful twin hinged cased ladies Rolex dating from the 1940′s. This delicious watch features a solid 9ct gold case and a fine, very high grade Rolex signed Swiss movement. The original Rolex signed ‘machined’ dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard is in stunning condition with perfect ‘cathedral’ hands. The arabic numbers, sub-second dial and railway line minute markers are as crisp as the day it was made. To complete this beautiful piece I’ve added a new black leather strap and gold plated buckle. This very special watch has just been serviced and comes complete with a new, high quality, presentation box or if preferred, a period watch box.
It has just been serviced by my watchmaker and, in view of the high-grade Swiss movement, I will include a 3 month guarantee on the movement which is long enough for you to assess the working order. Also, I offer a full refund if you are not entirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days for the UK, twelve days if overseas, in the same condition.
The Dial
The original and professionally refinished Rolex signed machine finished dial is in excellent condition with the perfect cathedral hands and finely highlighted arabic hour and railway line minute markers. The beautiful ivory/white dial is perfectly contrasted against the gold case and black hands. It is signed ‘Rolex’ and ‘Swiss Made’. The lens shows no signs of wear or scratching.

The Case
The crisp, solid 9ct gold twin hinge case is in excellent condition with only the smallest signs of wear. The case measures 28mm wide, excluding the winding crown and 32mm, including the lugs. The inside back is appropriately hallmarked for 9ct gold and the case reference number of ’1560’. It’s also signed ‘W&D’ – Wilsdorf and Davis – the founders of Rolex
The Strap
As mentioned, this watch sits on a new black leather strap with gold plated buckle

The Movement
The original very high-grade hand-wound 15 jewel, ‘Timed at 6 Positions’ movement is in crisp, very clean condition and is signed ‘15 Jewels’, ‘Timed at 6 Positions For all Climates’, ‘Rolex Prima’ and ‘Swiss Made’. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in excellent working order.

The Conclusion
This is a rare and highly collectable vintage watch from one of horology’s most famous names and will, if history is any judge, provide an excellent financial investment as well as a possession to treasure and enjoy. I will provide an insurance valuation in excess of my asking price. Please ring me if you have any questions. Chris 07917 100927.
