The original Rolex dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standard and is breathtakingly elegant and beautifully understated. The gold steel dauphine hands are perfectly straight and the raised hour markers and outer minute ring are as defined as when new – I’ve tried to capture the beauty of this watch and only come close – it looks even better in real life. It is signed ‘Rolex Precision’ and ‘T Swiss T’. The lens shows no signs of wear or scratching.
The Case
The highly polished solid 9ct gold case is in excellent condition with only the smallest signs of wear and a couple of very minor dings on the caseback. The case measures 35mm wide, excluding the ‘Rolex’ signed winding crown and 42mm, including the lugs. The inside back is signed ‘Dennison Made in England for Rolex’, ‘ALD’ – this is the mark of Dennison of England. Dennison made cases for most of the major manufacturers including Rolex, Breitling and Omega. The case back reference is ’969013′ and it’s appropriately hallmarked for 9ct gold.
The watch sits on a new, high quality dark brown crocodile skin strap and matching gold plated after market Rolex buckle.
The original Rolex signed high-grade 17 jewel hand wound movement is in crisp, very clean condition. The movement has just been cleaned and oiled by a professional watchmaker and is in excellent working order. It is signed ‘Montres Rolex SA Geneva Swiss’ and ‘Seventeen Jewels’. As mentioned, this high-end movement has just been serviced and I will include a 3 month guarantee.
